Fresh from Romesh Ranganathan’s goodie bag delivery… It's the brilliant Tom Davis! Actor, comedian, and podcaster, Tom joins us to talk about Spudgun, his new stand-up tour and return to the stage, following a run of screen roles in Wonka, A Thousand Blows and more, alongside hosting Wolf & Owl with Romesh. For a man who claims he couldn’t live without sandwiches, it felt right to begin with sliced bread and butter, paired with a crisp Botivo and elderflower cordial topped with soda. Then comes the main event: Angela’s steak pie. A golden, crisp, and totally unctuous recipe by Diana Henry, which Angela serves alongside a hearty side of mash and buttery savoy cabbage. She also made a gluten-free version for Nick. It’s enjoyed alongside a glass of Norton Winemaker’s Reserve Malbec, a perfect pairing recommended by the Waitrose wine experts. There’s definite admiration in the Dish studio this week. As far as we know, Tom is the only guest to have conquered The Big Five eating challenge, which tells you everything you need to know about his credentials.
