Football Sunday this week has a lot of attention around the league's top quarterbacks from Tom Brady to Dak Prescott to Tua Tagovailoa to Lamar Jackson to Patrick Mahomes and how this midway point of the season is going to be very telling for these leaders and their teams. With all eyes on Dallas' star Dak Prescott to make his return against the Lions, a lot of questions about the Cowboys team will be answered today and a possible shake up in the NFC East. Jeff doesn't hold back that the Cowboys could be a serious contender after what we were able to see them do without their leader and having Dak back means to rest of the division too. After suffering a serious concussion a couple weeks ago, Tua Tagovailoa is set to return against the Steelers on Sunday Night football. Jeff talks about what the Dolphins team gains in his return but also the guys get into a deep conversation about concussions, protocol and overall handling of this situation. Tua's injury didn't just affect his team but the entire league as the NFL now tries to figure out how to deal with the aftermath of this situation. Jeff and the guys discuss the NFL’s new approach to concussions during the game and question if this will change the intensity of what we’ve always known football to be as Channing chimes in about his experiences with concussions and how it’s always been part of playing the game. And with so much attention around Tom Brady and some of his recent decisions of putting personal before the team, Ryan talks about the overall message Tom Brady's actions are sending, not finding fault with the specific choices he's making. Brady’s recent decision to miss Saturday walkthroughs and attend Robert Kraft’s wedding has caused a lot of media stir although Jeff and Fred push back saying if Tampa wins against Pittsburgh last week, no one is talking about this. Ryan pushes back and says it's not the single choice but the change of behavior from someone who for 20+ years was the most focused man on the game to see him make certain choices seems out of character. Understanding this job and role doesn't come without backlash or public opinion, Ryan shares a recent moment where he had a private exchange with Lamar Jackson about a comment Ryan made about the quarterback's future which left Lamar feeling a certain way. Ryan went on to explain how he handled it and his confusion in how Lamar didn't choose to finish the conversation he started. Wrapping up the conversation talking about Davante Adams, big trade moves, Odell Beckham Jr and what teams could be building a Super Bowl roster, this show is one you don't want to miss to get some candid and honest thoughts as Tap in every Tuesday at noon eastern for our premiere episode of the Pivot with Special NFL seasonal drops on Friday afternoons at 3:30 pm and our newest addition waking up with The Pivot on Sunday mornings at 10a.
